STEPHEN D. WHIPPLE, SR., JD

Stephen D. Whipple is the President of Bank Services Company. Formerly with Ernst and Young, he is a leading expert in 409A compliance and the tax planning issues related to the design of non-qualified retirement benefits and other compensation plans for financial institutions. As one of the founders of Benmark, he directed the team of legal, accounting and compliance experts that oversaw the development and maintenance of Benmark’s customized compensation programs. He also was a co-founder of Bank Services Company in 2008. Steve is an expert in the tax, accounting and regulatory aspects of non-qualified retirement plans for community banks. Steve earned a JD degree from Villanova and a BBA in accounting from Temple University in Philadelphia.

STEPHEN D. WHIPPLE, JR.

Stephen has worked with banks, credit unions, and international microfinance institutions for over 10 years. Upon graduating from the University of Georgia with degrees in Economics, Psychology, and Spanish, he spent two years as an Economic Development Volunteer in Peace Corps Costa Rica. While there, he helped establish microlending infrastructure throughout the country. Since the Peace Corps, Stephen has worked as a financial advisor in addition to running loan programs with Community Development Credit Unions in New York, NY and Portland, OR. He is currently working on supplemental executive retirement plan design and developing new business here at Bank Services Company. 

ROGER L. HAUGE, JD

Roger Hauge co-founded Bank Services Company in 2008 after the sale of Benmark to Renaissance Bank Advisors (RBA). Roger founded Benmark in 1988 and oversaw the development of the company into the nation’s leading provider of compensation programs to financial institutions. A leading expert on regulatory compliance and executive compensation and retirement, he has served as consultant to federal and state bank regulators. Roger is an attorney and holds a graduate degree in banking from Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers University. His background includes managing a general practice law firm and presidency of Citizens State Bank in St. Louis Park, MN. Prior to Benmark, he was regional vice president of LARMEL Consulting Group, the predecessor to Benmark.

R. TERRELL STANLEY

A graduate of Mercer University in Macon GA, Stanley also holds a graduate degree in banking from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. For 15 years, Stanley held management positions with C&S Bank of Georgia and Trust Company Bank in Macon, GA., where he was Chairman of the Research and Development Committee while managing the bank’s lead commercial office. Later, Stanley was selected to head up the lending function of a nearby Community Bank. It was there where he met, and later joined Jack Brick of Brick and Co., one of the first developers of non-qualified benefit plans for Community Banks in the U.S. While a Brick partner, over 200 plans were placed in the southeast with a thousand participants.

BRIAN D. MILLER

Brian Miller is the founding member and Managing Principal of Planshare Administrative Services and oversees the plan administration for all Bank Services Company clients.  Brian brings more than 22 years of experience helping financial institutions retain and reward key employees, increase shareholder value, and manage risk. Brian specializes in the design and ongoing management of bank-owned life insurance (BOLI) portfolios and non-qualified benefit programs financed with BOLI.  Brian has provided educational seminars across the country on various topics associated with BOLI and executive benefits. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, a licensed insurance representative with FINRA (Financial Industry Regulation Authority) and holds his Series 6 and 63 licenses.
